The countdown is on (Oh yes it is!) as Victoria Theatre Halifax prepare for magical family pantomime Beauty and the Beast, playing from 12 December 2025 – 04 January 2026.
When an arrogant prince is cursed to live as a beast, his only hope of salvation is to find love before the last petal falls from an enchanted rose. Can village girl Belle see beyond appearances and learn to love a beast?
This season sees the return of seasoned actor and Halifax favourite Andrew Pollard as the fabulous and larger-than-life Dame Madeline Marzipan. He will be joined by Matthew Allen on his Victoria Theatre panto debut as the hilarious French Frank. Sam Willison reprises the role of the Prince/Beast which he last played at the venue in 2019 alongside Beth Woodcock as Belle and Cathy Breeze as Professor Potage. Neil Moors plays the booable baddy Benedict Bourbon with Nikki Schofield spreading a little panto magic as Fairy Flutterby
With an all-singing all-dancing ensemble which includes Nathan Christy, Chloe Mae McDonald, Jacob Stebbings and Naomi Tower and a cast of talented local youngsters to bring the magical fairytale to life the show promises to be a laugh-out-loud festive treat for the whole family.
Beauty and the Beast is once again produced and written by the award-winning Imagine Theatre. It is Directed by Robert Marsden with Choreography by Laura Ann Smith. David Haller is Musical Director with Musical Arrangement by Alec Roberts and Ed Watkins. LX Design and Programming is by Toby Darvill with Sound Design by Andy Graham of Orbital Sound.
