Following the government’s announcements on Monday, the Victoria Theatre will be operating again as a full-scale venue from Monday 19 July. We continue to follow safety & hygiene measures for businesses as set out by the Government in its Performing Arts guidance and in consultation with Calderdale Council and professional industry bodies.
Please be aware of the current government COVID restrictions and abide by local and national rules.
With the exception of the final Spaced Out Comedy Club on Thursday 22 July, we will no longer be offering socially distanced seating in the auditorium, but your safety continues to be of paramount importance to us. To keep audiences safe and comfortable, we are continuing to:
Limit contact wherever possible with use of contactless ticketing and payment methods
Have hand sanitiser points around the building and suggest customers continue to make use of these
Carry out enhanced cleaning in between performances
Encourage visitors to wear masks when moving around the venue
Ensure that all staff in the venue are also wearing face coverings and / or visors (unless exempt)
Ventilating the venue as much as possible
Purchasing Your Tickets
We still recommend that tickets are purchased online, where possible and continue to issue electronic tickets. Please either print your tickets at home or show them on your mobile phone when you arrive at the venue.
Please note the new Box Office opening hours. There is currently a maximum limit of 2 customers in the box office at any time and we are strongly advising that, for your safety and the safety of our staff and other customers, that you continue to wear a facemask when in the box office.

Monday, Wednesday and Saturday - 1 - 4pm
Friday - 10am - 2pm
Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday – CLOSED
The Box Office will also be open from 4pm on show days
The day before your scheduled event you will receive an email containing all the information you will need for a safe and enjoyable visit. Please keep an eye out for this email and don't forget to check your junk mail folder.
We continue to have seats set aside for Wheelchair Users and carers / companions. As usual, these need to be booked by contacting the box office with your details and a member of the box office team will call you back to book your tickets. If you have any other specific access requirements, please call us and we would be happy to assist you.
Important Information about Entry to the Venue
Admission to any event is at all times subject to all terms, conditions or rules of the Promoter and the venue operator. Customers must also adhere to the Promoter or venue operator’s specific terms of entry and protocols surrounding COVID-19 – this could be, but is not limited to, an obligation to provide negative lateral flow tests or provide vaccination certificates. If you do not comply with any Promoter or venue terms, conditions or rules then the Promoter or venue operator may refuse admission or require you or other ticket holders to leave the venue and you will not be entitled to a refund.
Please check the web pages and pre-show emails for the events that you have booked for before attending the venue for the most up to date policies about entry.
For Your Health and Safety When at the Victoria Theatre
Please bring limited belongings (remembering your face covering) - a cloakroom service will not currently be available.
The theatre will be well ventilated and may be cooler than usual, so we recommend that you bring warm clothing, such as a jumper or jacket in case you feel cold.
Signage will still be in place to help visitors to move safely around the venue. Please follow signage where required.
Hand sanitiser stations are located at the entrance to and around the venue, we invite you to make use of these to keep your hands bacteria free.
Our staff will be on hand to assist and direct you. Please be patient with us, as getting people into the venue and to seats safely make take a little longer than usual.
We are no longer insisting that visitors wear a face covering when at the venue, however, to help protect yourself, other visitors and our staff, we strongly advise that face coverings continue to be worn when you are entering, exiting and moving around the venue, particularly in the toilets and bars where there is more likelihood of people gathering.
To ensure minimal contact with theatre staff please adhere to all the usual rules within the auditorium, such as no photographs and please remain in your seats.
Please consider the safety of the theatre’s front of house team and either dispose of any rubbish in the bins provided or take it home with you.
Please be aware that, if you choose to wear a mask, that you may be seated next to other customers choosing not to wear masks, despite our strong encouragement to do so.
Drinks and Refreshments
The kiosk bars in the venue will be open as normal. Please be aware that the bars and toilets are areas of the building that can become more crowded and we strongly recommend that you continue to wear a face mask to help protect yourself and those around you. You can pre-order interval drinks in the bar when you arrive at the theatre and these can be collected from the usual collection points in the bars.
Challenge 21 rules apply to all alcoholic beverages and we will be asking anyone who looks under 21 years of age.
Members can receive their 10% discount in the bars when they produce a valid membership card.
