‘It's a trip to listen to and watch’ DON LETTS
‘It’s the kind of idiosyncrasy that cult fan-bases are built on, and you can’t help but feel it couldn’t have come from anywhere but the land of the rising sun’ - VENUE MAGAZINE
ICHI, from Nagoya in Japan, takes the notion of a one-man band to new limits, combining his quirky handmade instrument inventions (Stilt-bass, Kalilaphone, Balloon-pipes, Hatbox-pedal-drum, Tapumpet, Percussion-shoes & Hattrick-hat) with steel-drum, ping-pong balls, typewriter, toys & everyday objects all in the space of one short set. Somehow there's an ancient, ritualistic feel to his performances - he's like the misplaced leader of a tribe. To see ICHI live is to witness something so playful and unusual you know that you're experiencing something entirely new. It`s fun, it`s danceable, it`s exciting.

Wire Worms are a Neo-Folk project based in Leeds.
We aim to intertwine English Trad with experimental electronic music.
The demo album of Wire Worms -- "The Golden Bough" -- explores a folk-horror kernel within the English folk oeuvre, following a trail set by the likes of Current 93, Hedningarna and Richard Dawson.
Specifically, the songs and stories that surround the sacrifice of sacred entities and the bringing of the seasons. A thematic within a myriad of traditional songs, more contemporary additions to the English catalogue, and the broader folk customs within which these songs are intertwined.
These literary elements are emphasised through a musicality that draws upon a different kind of British "folk" culture; through industrial, ambient, and bass music. This 'weirding', through disrupting the traditional compositional approaches to these songs, seeks to further emphasise and extract the relationship between the traditional, uncanny, and horrific.
Overall, we've tried to gather together a particular thread within the English oral tradition, while reinterpreting these songs through a broader conception of what "Folk" music entails.
