Book nowHalifax Comedy Festival 2024 'On Tour' presents: Robin Ince - Melons, A Love Letter to Comedy at The New Roxy, Sowerby Bridge
Join Robin for one of Edinburgh Festival 2023’s most highly rated shows.
Robin’s first solo show was a disaster, but a disaster that ended with him punching a melon with Vernon Kay’s face drawn on it before singing Mustang Sally
Melons is an uplifting deep dive into Robin Ince's influences, why he fell in love with comedy and the many, many gig anecdotes he has amassed over the years. An joyful hour of positivity and a celebration of comedy itself.
WINNER: Rose D’Or, Sony Gold and The Arthur C Clarke Award.

About The New Roxy, Sowerby Bridge
This old cinema building opened around 1920, continuing as an 800 seater cinema until 1963. After a decade of disuse, it was converted to a bingo hall and in 2009 became a café and social club, much altered inside. The cavernous interior has sports TVs on virtually every wall.
Recently under new ownership, The New Roxy has undergone further improvements and is now a multi use community space with a cae bar and sunny beer garden.
