Important Information -
In response to the Government’s statement in March 2020 advising the UK public to avoid unnecessary social contact, including by not attending theatres, Calderdale Council took the precaution of closing the Victoria Theatre. We are still waiting for further advice from Central Government about when and how we will be able to safely re-open. The team continue to work behind the scenes to make sure the theatre will reopen quickly for you once we are able to do so.
The Russian State Ballet and Opera House presents Swan Lake has been re-scheduled to Friday 22 October 2021 (from 31 October 2020).
We're pleased to confirm that your existing tickets will be valid at the rescheduled date and we hope you can join us. If you have chosen to collect your tickets from the Box Office at the time of booking, your tickets will still be available for collection up to the date of the rescheduled show.
If you are unable to attend, tickets for this event must be returned to the Box Office by 31 October 2020 for a refund. The Theatre and Box Office are currently closed to the public, however we currently have a small number of Box Office staff administering refunds so please bear with us in this unprecedented situation.
- If you have Victoria Theatre tickets that were bought from the Box Office and would like a refund - these will need to be returned to the Box Office for a refund (as this event has been postponed and to allow tickets to be resold). If you have tickets waiting at the Box Office for collection and would like a refund then please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
- If you have Print at Home Tickets and would like a refund - please return the original print at home email which included the link to the ticket pdf (with the subject line - 'Your print at home tickets are ready - PLEASE PRINT') to the Box Office at email@example.com
- If you have purchased tickets though a ticket agent (eg Ticketmaster, SEE tickets etc) or any other channel and would like a refund - you will need to contact the agent directly to discuss your booking and their terms and conditions and refund policy will apply.
PLEASE NOTE: The £1.75 Theatre Support Fee that is automatically added to all tickets is non refundable. This fee is essential to supporting the theatre operations, particularly during these difficult times and it will be used to help provide necessary equipment for the safety of our audiences once we re-open for shows.
The Russian State Ballet and Opera House
Swan Lake – a timeless ballet with exquisite dancing
Music by Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky
Featuring live Orchestra with over 30 musicians
‘This was an absolute sumptuous ballet with the most gorgeous sets and costumes I have seen in years.’ The Central Fife Times.
After sell-out performances last year, the Russian State Ballet and Opera House is back for its annual UK tour with spellbinding, lavish, full-production touring ballet.
One hundred and thirty-five years ago audiences heard Swan Lake by the great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky for the very first time. From that moment on, the world of ballet would never be the same.
Swan Lake is a tale of two young women, Odette and Odile, who resemble each other so strikingly that one can easily be mistaken for the other.
It is the compelling legend of a tragic romance in which a princess, Odette, is turned into a swan by an evil curse. Prince Siegfried chances upon a flock of swans while out hunting. When one of the swans turns into a beautiful young woman he is instantly captivated – will his love prove strong enough to break the evil spell that she is under?
From the opulent splendour of the palace ballroom to the moonlit lake where majestic swans glide in perfect formation, this compelling tale of tragic romance has it all.
Swan Lake captures, like no other ballet, the full range of human emotions – from hope to despair, from terror to tenderness, from melancholy to ecstasy.
A wonderful evening out, the memories of which you will cherish long after the final curtain falls.
Ticket holders are invited to join us in the auditorium from 6:45pm for a pre-show Swan Lake talk.
* Ticket prices include a Theatre Support Fee when booking via our Box Office and online. No other charges are applied.
** Price dependent on section of theatre selected.
